Though I adore sushi and Skipjack is just a hop, skip and a jump from my doorstep, I hadn't tried it yet, mostly because I hadn't heard any word of mouth nor read much about it. Now that I've tried it, I'm thinking maybe that's because everyone's trying to keep this little gem a secret.
The rolls aren't the most inventive on the planet, but the fish was fresh and expertly prepared. I started with 1 (2pc) order each of Maguro, Hamachi and Sake nigiri, plus a Dragon Roll. Aside from being delicious, the roll was just the right size. You know how some places make their rolls so big you can barely get them in your mouth? I can't stand that. Skipjack's are just right. They also passed my "dessert test." If the Sake nigiri is good enough, I'll have another order for dessert -- and that's just what I did last night. Also on the plus side: service is friendly and the prices are quite reasonable.
Forgive me, dear readers, but I was so ravenous that I neglected to take photos. But don't worry, I'll be back for more.
UPDATE: Actually, unfortunately I won't -- Skipjack is now CLOSED.
